A Big Beautiful Block Party
I was recently asked by Rolling Stone to cover A Big Beautiful Block Party in downtown Las Vegas, which showcased an exciting lineup featuring: Empress Of, John Talabot, LP Giobbi, Neil Frances, James Blake, Justice, and Jamie XX on day one, while day two brought in: Fifi, Badbadnotgood, Toro Y Moi, Thundercat, Jungle, LCD Soundsystem, and Peggy Gou.
Life is Beautiful truly lived up to its name, exuding an energy that was palpable over the two-day event. Moving from one set to the next, running backstage and to local hotels to shoot with the artists was exhausting, but the vibrant atmosphere made every chaotic moment worth it.
Day one kicked off with a dynamic mix of sounds and visuals. The relentless desert sun beat down, yet the heat did little to diminish the festival’s spirited vibe. Each act brought something unique to the stage, effortlessly blending genres and creating an exhilarating experience that kept the audience engaged from start to finish.
Day two kept the momentum going, showcasing a diverse range of artists whose styles spanned from laid-back grooves to high-energy dance tracks. The festival’s layout allowed for smooth transitions between sets, amplifying the overall excitement of the day. The rapport between the artists and their music unleashed a stimulating energy that reverberated throughout the venue, fully immersing the crowd.
A Big Beautiful Block Party was more than just a collection of acts; it was a celebration of music and community that lingered long after the final notes faded away. It was a weekend filled with unforgettable highlights, a reminder of the power of live music.
