Most Instagrammable Places in Las Vegas to Take Photos: A Local Las Vegas Photographer’s Top 20

Looking for the best places to take pictures in Las Vegas? From the themed hotels on the Strip to hidden gems in the Downtown Arts District, there are so many Instagrammable places in Las Vegas.

As a local Las Vegas photographer, I’ve stumbled upon some one-of-a-kind spots on and off the Las Vegas Strip. Fun fact: Some of my favorite Instagram-worthy photo shoot locations end up being right next to the spots I initially chose.

When doing a photoshoot in Las Vegas, it’s important to remember that a lot of the photo ops are walkable, but it can take some time to get to each location. Bring a pair of comfortable shoes that are easy to throw on to walk to your various photo locations.

The Strip

1. “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” Sign

The iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign is one of the most popular Las Vegas photo spots (and definitely one of the most common selfie spots in Las Vegas). The sign looks great in pictures during the day and at night, but it’s important to avoid crowds if you want a straight on shot of the sign. Arrive at the Las Vegas sign early in the morning to avoid the most crowds. If you’re looking for the twinkling lights, then the later the better once the sun goes down and the sunset crowd has left.

2. Excalibur Hotel & Casino

If you’re looking for some classic Vegas photos, the Excalibur is an instantly recognizable spot for your Instagram. The best shots to give a “Disneyland in Vegas” feel are from the sidewalk or the walking bridges.

3. New York - New York Hotel & Casino

Within walking distance from Excalibur is the colorful New York - New York. Around New York - New York and the connected area of The Park, there are plenty of spots to get that not-in-Vegas, definitely-in-Vegas shot. No matter which direction you shoot, you get the design and feel of the iconic New York City skyline with a Statue of Liberty replica, smaller Brooklyn Bridge replica and more.

4. The Shops at Crystals

The unique architecture both inside and outside of The Shops at Crystals creates a lot of Instagram-worthy photo spots directly on the Las Vegas Strip. The interior of the luxury shops is full of luxury, glamor, unique art installations and funky structures. The exterior of the shops is mirrored with unique angles, tucked away trees and a variety of spots to give that editorial Vegas photoshoot feel.

5. Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

Many people don’t take the time to find the hidden gems of Planet Hollywood and the Miracle Mile Shops. With colorful lights, mixed patterns and a quiet upstairs area near the theaters, there are a lot of unique backdrops for your Las Vegas photoshoot. Taking photos from across the street near Cosmopolitan also allows you to capture the silver facade of Planet Hollywood’s entrance or the large marquee - giving that New York Times Square look and feel.

6. Paris Arc de Triomphe

Everyone loves to take photos in front of the Eiffel Tower replica at Paris Las Vegas. Most tourists don’t realize that Paris Las Vegas has a variety of photo ops in the front of the hotel and around the property. My favorite spot is the Arc de Triomphe. It’s best to get a shot of this gorgeous arch early in the morning to avoid cars in the valet area.

7. The Bellagio Hotel & Casino

The Bellagio in Las Vegas has one of the most famous water and light shows in the world on the front fountains. (Local secret: The parking garage has an even better view of the fountains!). The grand architecture of Bellagio makes it one of the best Las Vegas Instagram spots for epic photos. If you’re looking for a less popular location, I love shooting under the walkways with just a glimpse of the water in the background.

8. Flamingo Las Vegas

The legendary Flamingo Las Vegas has a lot of fun photo moments. From the neon signs to the Flamingo wildlife habitat to spots on The LINQ Promenade, you can create a variety of Insta-worthy photos around Flamingo.

9. Caesars Palace

There’s no shortage of classic Vegas photo ops around Caesars Palace in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. There are countless angles in front of the iconic front fountains. Throughout the resort you will find grand statues, columns and greenery to creat an Instagram photo that everyone hopes to capture in Vegas. The outdoor Spanish Steps near Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen with statues on both sides also create a grand entrance moment.

10. Venetian Las Vegas

If you’re looking for a spot to take photos in Vegas that doesn’t look like you’re in Las Vegas, then the Venetian is the perfect place. Around the Venetian and connected Palazzo Las Vegas there are a variety of fountains, staircases and backdrops to give the feeling of a European city.

Downtown Las Vegas

11. Fremont Street

Fremont Street is home to a variety of art installations, murals, retro Vegas signs and marquees and so much more. There are plenty of Life is Beautiful festival murals and photo ops created by local Las Vegas artists that stay up year round. The area is modern and bright but also full of classic Vegas spots. If you’re looking for more neutrals, the front entrances of classic Downtown Las Vegas hotels make the perfect timeless backdrops.

12. The Plaza

The main entrance of The Plaza and the walkways around the buildings have the iconic neon lights that Vegas is known for. But hurry to book a shoot with me here – the twinkling lights in the circular porte-cochère at The Plaza won’t be staying for long.

13. Arts District

Located just minutes from Fremont Street, the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District has a wide variety of Instagrammable spots. Colorful murals, urban alleys covered in graffiti and trendy new businesses create fun backdrops for any photo.

Nature and Local Favorites

If you’re looking for the best off-Strip places to take photos in Las Vegas, there are a variety of hiking trails and lesser-known hidden gems that are perfect for photoshoots in Las Vegas.

14. Red Rock Canyon

With a 13-mile scenic loop of beautiful hikes in Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon is full of beautiful trails for taking photos. Just a 25-minute drive from the Strip, you can easily take a quick trip to Red Rock to capture great photos. Red Rock is great if you’re limited on time but want amazing Instagram photos that have a striking quality like the Grand Canyon shots. (Local tip: Calico Basin is also a free area right before the main Red Rock Canyon entrance).

15. Valley of Fire State Park

With bright red rocks, winding roads and the epic mountains, Valley of Fire is one of the most popular photo locations for Las Veas photographers. The Fire Wave at Valley of Fire State Park is one of the most popular spots along with Pastel Pink Canyon.

16. Seven Magic Mountains

If you’re looking for an immediately recognizable spot to take photos, the Seven Magic Mountains art installation is the perfect backdrop. Brightly-painted rocks in the middle of the desert is something you don’t see every day and they’re located just a short drive away directly off of the 15.

17. Mt. Charleston

Mt. Charleston is one of Las Vegas’ best kept secrets and just a quick drive from the center of Las Vegas. With seasonal waterfalls, easy walking trails and a plenty of greenery, Mt Charleston is an escape out of the desert (and usually at least 10 degrees cooler than Vegas at all times!).

18. Tivoli Village

One of my favorite off-Strip locations to take pictures in Vegas is at Tivoli Village in Summerlin. With European-style architecture, fountains, murals and a variety of crosswalks, you can take photos at Tivoli that will give the illusion of multiple locations.

19. Zion National Park

A bit of a drive from Las Vegas, Zion takes a bit more time to coordinate, but the views don’t disappoint. The bright landscapes and water throughout the park make every photo epic. It is important to take photos early in the morning or late afternoon so that you reach your spot before sunset for the smallest crowds.

20. Lake Mead National Park

Lake Mead is a great place for any Las Vegas photoshoot for families, couples or individuals. The loop has various overlooks and the drive is full of opportunities for gorgeous shots.

If you’re looking for a specific shot or vibe, just ask! There are more locations in Vegas that I can help find for you.
